The Morning Musume X Anime crossover you were clamoring for finally arrived. Morning Musume ’15’s first release of the year, and 58th release overall, is the triple A-side “Seishun Kozo ga Naiteiru / Yuugure wa Ameagari / Ima Koko Kara”. As part of the triple A-side, “Ima Koko Kara” will be used in the latest Pretty Cure movie, “Pretty Cure All Stars: Haru no Carnival”. I think providing closing credits/insert song to a well-established anime franchise can only bring great things to the group. Wisely, Pretty Cure appeals to young girls (so I’m told), which could bring a windfall of new girl fans to the group. That said, I am squarely a Morning Musume fan, so I find the addition of Pretty Cure anime cuts in the PV a bit distracting. A necessary distraction, but still a distraction.
Mysterious shots of as yet unnamed Morning Musume ’15 members start off the PV.
Oda Sakura hopes she gets a good spot near the center.
To start with the basics, the group itself looks great. Morning Musume ’15 fills the solo shot after solo shot with bright smiles and glittered gorgeousness. Even though a sound stage provides the setting for the PV, the camera movements and dissolves provides enough visual interest. Those glitter effects I mentioned earlier combine with floating flower petals and colored spots to adorn every corner of the PV.
Suzuki Kanon looks great in this PV.
12th gen alert! Nonaka Miki and Ogata Haruna incoming!
It wouldn’t be an anime without a mysterious energy ball
that changes color
Iikubo Haruna and Ishida Ayumi: blinded by the light.
Look at the formation! The colored spots! OdaSaku in the center!
Makino Maria is a real cutie pie. Let’s have more of her.
I think the lyric here might have been Haa-chin’s figure skating motto.
Nonaka Miki looks great!
Haga Akane in the center of a glitter explosion
Chelsea. Side pony.
“Ima Koko Kara” is all Sakura. Let’s have another.
The “Pinky and the Brain” combo of Morning Musume ’15: Kudo Haruka and Sato Masaki!
Did you see all the sparkles flying around Duu? Jeez!
There are those among who despise idols with short hair. I think Daishi pulls of her cut well. It has a nice flip to it.
Honey does her best “Emo Musume” impersonation (pro tip: she should try touching her face).
Ladies and Gentlemen: I present the Ruling Class! The Kyuukie’s have risen to the top of Morning Musume.
I don’t think I need to explain what Ikuta Erina is doing here.
Seriously cute in this PV
Which means we should have some Fukumura Mizuki, too.
Sayashi Riho isn’t going anywhere.
See? She’s at center now.
Let’s have a complete Qki set with Zukki!
At some point, the little girls show up. Future Hello! Project stars?
By the power of micro gravity, the floating petals form a heart
All in all, there’s not much to write about. This being an anime tie-in, most people got what they expected. “Ima Koko Kara” is an attractive PV that showcases the girls nicely. The lyric fills itself with nice motivational words, but doesn’t present too much challenge. The song is nice enough, although it lacks the same punch that we have come to expect from Morning Musume releases. The real meat of this release will be the next two songs.
